Spring Up!

Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday! How was your Easter weekend? Ours was full of exhausting fun! I am so pooped out. We both have big families and of course want to celebrate with each side so holidays usually include a whole weekend of fun which I love. Saturday, we celebrated with my husbands' family and we went on an off road four wheeler adventure to eat at a local restaurant and then ended at my in laws for finger foods, chatting and board games. I have never seen a family love board games as much as they do and it's always a fun time. Funnt backstory, when Drew and I first started dating, the very first time meeting his family, super nervous and anxious of course, they played Guesstures! Guess who had to get up in front of the whole fam damily and act out. This girl. Thankfully this girl isn't too shy and is fairly outgoing! Haha!

Sunday we were so excited to go to our church. They were hosting an Easter play and let me tell you, went above and beyond. It was so good!! We got home from church service and hosted my family Easter at our house. While it's stressful and exhausting to host a big get together, I enjoy having everyone out and it also gets our house in order quickly! We have several projects going on right now around our house so it added a bit of stress to us handling those but nonetheless the party was a hit. Good food and good weather! We lucked out. I had everyone sign up to bring a side or dessert so that made the list shorter for me, my Mom brought a ham, so I signed up for a couple sides, drinks and a dessert. Easy cheesy! Now we can't count the new throw pillows, candles, outdoor decor, Easter items and hand towels I bought to spruce it up. Ha! This brings me to my topic today!

How to easily and inexpensively "Spring Up" your home.

I love love love to decorate for seasons and holidays! I get it from my Mama. She always did growing up and it always made us kids so happy and excited and I know my girls love when they come home from school and notice I got out my Valentine's decor or obviously Christmas is the biggie.

Once Easter decor is over, there isn't anything to technically decorate for unless you count the 4th of July but I can't say I have much for that. I need a cute Summer wreath though so that will be on my radar! Okie dokie. Here are some top tips to Spring up your space!

-buy fruit and stick in a cute fruit bowl on the counter! I got a new fruit bowl for my bday and something about warm weather makes me have a hankering for some fruit! https://amzn.to/3zRVlrn

-spring dish towels or bathroom hand towels. This is a super inexpensive way to brighten a space up. Walmart or TJ Max has super cheap and cute towels for your guest bathroom or kitchen. https://amzn.to/40Z56Qe

-front door wreath! Always cute and fun! I have had my wooden ones for years now! I have several different holiday styles and if you ask my husband he can't stand them banging on the door all the time. https://amzn.to/43os5FZ

-plant flowers! Umm this is super obvious but needs to be stated. This definitely screams Springtime. I love indoor and outdoor plants. I have gotten more patient in my life with keeping my plants alive. There was a season I wasn't as good. I have more time now that my girls are older.

-spring candles! Yep. I love a nice spring floral scented candle. Again my go to places are always Walmart or TJ Maxx!

-dust off your grill and fire it up. Yum! One of my fave meals is Italian marinated chicken, corn on the cob, fresh salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Hello Summer!!

-swap your throw pillows and throw blankets out for lighter and brighter. I have plaids and heavy material throws for colder months but I like to switch to lighter throws and fun spring/summer colors and prints. https://amzn.to/3nZTcHo

-tshirt sheets on the bed! Have you tried? They are so soft and cooler than heavy flannels. I switch everyone's bedding out to summer sheets. These are my fave

-spruce up the deck! I posted about this recently but I love to porch sit. Check out the cutest Amazon finds!! I especially love the egg chair and the metal agave plants!! Fun!
